Managing Nuisance Wildlife in Urban and Suburban Areas
This course was designed to highlight the nature of problems caused by wildlife species in urban settings, why such problems occur and what can be done to prevent and/or mitigate them. Emphasis was placed on legal status of species, techniques for damage prevention and planning approaches to prevent wildlife conflicts. Important current conflicts with such species as Canada geese, white-tailed deer, raccoons and pigeons in urban settings were featured. Participants were encouraged to bring examples of urban wildlife issues in their own localities.
