Forest Sustainability Beyond 2000
This conference critically examined our current approaches to forest sustainability and provided an important contribution in the development of a common vision for Canada's forests by bringing together representatives of industry, government, academia, aboriginal and environmental organizations and forest-based communities from across the country to develop a common vision for the future. The conference objectives included: presentation of current developments in science, technology, policy & practices and society & stewardship, as they relate to the goal of sustainable forests; discussion and interaction that fostered a common vision for Canadian forests among conference participants and the interests they represent.
