Firewise Workshops
Now America's Firewise partners are gathering again to create the next generation of Firewise communities. Through dynamic presentations and such workshop tools as state-of-the art mapping and wildfire simulations, nearly 1000 handpicked community leaders and professionals will learn first hand the complexities involved in building communities (and citizenry’s) that are prepared for the inevitable effects of unwanted wildland fire. There will be 100 participants at each workshop representing the following: wildland fire management, city/county planners and officials, architects/ landscape architects, emergency managers, realtors, bankers, conservation organizations, homebuilders/ developers, private forestry, community/ homeowner associations, and many others. Additional workshop locations and dates: Suffield, CT June 5-7, 2000; Brooklyn Park, MN September 25-27, 2000; Atlanta, GA October 18-20, 2000; Santa Cruz, CA February 2001; Austin, TX April 2001; Denver, CO June 2001; Hidden Valley, PA September 2001; St. Louis, MO October 2001.
