SUMMARY:16th Biennial Southern Silvicultural Research Conference
DESCRIPTION:The event will consist of a poster session\, four concurre
 nt sessions\, and optional field tours. Conference sessions and tours 
 will be reviewed for SAF Continuing Forestry Education Credits. Early 
 registration for the conference begins June 1\, 2010. This year the BS
 SRC will host a special session focused exclusively on forest carbon s
 cience in southern forest.  This session is organized to address the s
 tate-of-science in the forest carbon cycle research\, political and te
 chnical barriers in developing carbon accounting systems\, bioenergy s
 ystems\, economics of carbon sequestration\, and co-benefits and costs
  as the southern region moves towards a low carbon economy.
