16th Biennial Southern Silvicultural Research Conference
The event will consist of a poster session, four concurrent sessions, and optional field tours. Conference sessions and tours will be reviewed for SAF Continuing Forestry Education Credits. Early registration for the conference begins June 1, 2010. This year the BSSRC will host a special session focused exclusively on forest carbon science in southern forest. This session is organized to address the state-of-science in the forest carbon cycle research, political and technical barriers in developing carbon accounting systems, bioenergy systems, economics of carbon sequestration, and co-benefits and costs as the southern region moves towards a low carbon economy.
